Blackheads are the most girls problem, and we often search for how to remove blackheads? Where does it coming from? How to prevent them from happening and treat them? To find the accurate answer, we consult with a dermatologist. Scroll below and find out the answer of how to remove blackheads.
What are comedones, or what are blackheads?
Dermatologists don’t call it blackheads; they call them comedones. Comedones are the skin-colored, small bumps (papules) commonly start on the forehead and chin of those with acne. A solo lesion is a comedo. Open comedones are often called blackheads; it is called black because of the surface pigment melanin. So what actually happens is on the top of the skin we have acne bacteriumpropioni, and if the gap is opening (pores), it enters into it. This is the sebaceous gland (A sebaceous gland is a tiny exocrine gland in the skin that penetrates into a hair follicle to cover an oily or waxy matter, called sebum). So this sebaceous gland produces more oil or more sebum, and you get oilier skin. Here where the problem starts, and we call it blackheads.
Closed comedones are called whiteheads, and it’s called white because the follicle is completely blocked, and no dirt enters the pores.
Why we get comedones or blackheads?
Comedones usually start at the age of eleven or sixteen or even later on because of hormonal changes. During this time, your hormones change crazily because of testosterone. So the one reason is hormonal changes.
The second main reason for getting comedones is increased sebum production. A comedo is created by the debris preventing the sebaceous duct and hair follicle. It is now identified that comedones also involve inflammation.
The third reason can be Over hydrated skin premenstrual, from moisturizers or due to humid conditions.
The fourth reason can be specific dietary issues that may contribute to comedonal acne, main foods like milk products or vitamin B, and high glycemic-index foods.
How To Remove Blackheads or How to avoid blackheads?
There are different possibilities. First, wash your face properly in the morning and the evening (if you have not read the article “how to wash face”) so that bacterial cannot get the living space.
Secondly, do not touch your face. So actually minimize the bacterial effect. You can also use benzoyl peroxide medication, which good to kill bacterial on your skin (this chemical can be irritating).
Thirdly from the list of Five Things you should nevermore put on your face, one thing is oil or oil-based products. Guys, please do not put oil because when you put oil, bacteria’s make a party under the oil. So the oil is just covering the skin, and bacterial under the oil feel great. And it’s one of the central reasons you get blackheads. So to avoid blackheads stop using facial oil or oil-based products.
To avoid the blackhead removing the top of blackhead with nails or tools is not the best option. Because when you remove the top of blackheads, it turns over again. To avoid this, you can use two best ingredients called salicylic acid BHA (beta hydroxy acid) or Glycolic acid AHA (alpha hydroxy acid). Sound complicated, but it’s not. You can use Eucerin DermoPure Cleansing Gel in $24.90 from amazon.
The next solution is to use very light creams because, as I mentioned earlier, no oil, no covering. Retinol, also known as vitamin A is also sufficient ingredients. Vitamin A or retinol pushes the blackhead root, so it comes out, and you will experience dry skin. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends that retinol (retinoid) is a modern form of vitamin A and it can treat or prevent inflammatory acne wounds and control sebum production. In particular, the organization suggests applying topical retinoids to treat several types of acne.
